3. He was born in Wichita, Kansas.  He took his first photos around the age of 15 for a local newspaper.  He attended the Notre Dame College in Wichita in 1936, and a special photographic scholarship was created for him.  He worked for Life magazine from 1947 to 1955.  He also worked for

He is known mainly for his photographs of war.  His main subject that i saw was pictures of people during war although he does take pictures of people other than in times of war.  He brought many things to art but one of the most important things was that he brought a fund in his name that promotes "humanistic photography" which is aimed at keeping alive the interest in photographs of the everyday person.  He also taught one year at the university of Arizona until he died in 1978.

I was attracted to this photographer because his photos of war were interesting and they were good photos.  The pictures attracted me because i like learning about war and the people involved and why they are involved.  All of the photos i have seen by him have really been full of emotion.  I think that how he has gained fame as a photographer is by taking pictures of people an really capturing their emotions because even when people aren't in his photos you can still guess the feelings of the photographer.  Another way he has gained fame is by taking photos of everyday people, because some of the photographs he takes are of normal people just doing their jobs or going on with their day to day lives and he represents them in his photographs very well by capturing the emotion in their faces and their passion towards their job and some of his photos show how the job is done.

My Panorama

This is a panorama composed of four pictures .taken at Goodyear Metro park.  To put the together into one picture i copied and pasted the different images together.  Then i used the transform tool to align the angles in the photo.  I made an adjustment layer to change the hue/saturation of the different pictures to make the lighting look the same.  I used a layer mask to make the edges of the pictures into a more smooth transition.  Then i used a layer mask to delete the excess part of the picture that i didn't need.  To finish this picture i cropped off the uneven edges of the photo.

Photoshop Quiz

1.What is the advantage of using a layer mask? What color reveals and what colormasks your images?
    The advantage to the layer mask is that you can add adjustments to your picture without changing the picture itself.  White reveals an image and black hides an image.


2.  When using a clone stamp, what key must be held to sample a portion of the image?
    You need to hold the option key to sample a portion of the image.


3. How do I add additional canvas to my image? How do the anchor points effect this?
    To add canvas you go to image and select canvas size.  The anchor points affect which way the canvas length is added.


4. How do you blur a layer?
    To blur a layer you go to filter, click blur, and then you click gaussian blur and then choose the intensity of the blur.

5. How do you link a levels adjustment layer to an individual layer?

    First you add an adjustment layer then you get your mouse between the adjustment layer and the layer you want it to be applied to then you hold down the option button to apply the adjustment layer to the layer below it.

Panorama

 I started this panorama with four different images so to make them into one picture to make it a panorama I copied and pasted the different images together.  Then I used the transform tool to align the angles in the photo. Then I used a layer mask to delete the excess part of the picture that I didn't need.  The final thing I did was crop the edges of the photograph to make the edges even and give it a more rectangular shape.

In this i used the clone stamp to hide some zits and other marks. I also changed  some of the coloring.

Model Portrait

For this photo we  removed a large vein on her forehead, we whitened the teeth and eyes and we smoothed out the face by using the blur tool.

Old Time Photo Repair

For this photo we needed to fix some spots that were torn or faded.  There were some spots that had water marks and so we used the clone stamp to fix those too.

Torn Photo Repair

This was a torn picture and we needed to first repair it by aligning the pieces.  Then we used the clone stamp tool to put the pieces together.  Lastly we changed the hue/saturation of the picture to make it less faded.
